Absolute scrumptiousness!!! Cannot recommend this place enough. We tried the hibachi on Sunday. Full of succulent flavor and goodness. The waitress was prompt and polite, especially with my kids. The hibachi chef was considerate of my kids fear of big flames and tailored the show to them. The only thing off was the ginger dressing for the salad. Not what I'm used to. But, still good. Then, we returned the next day. Yep, they're that good! And hubby and I shared the sushi love boat. I almost wanted to pick a fight just so I could have the sushi all to myself. I usually shy away from raw fish just by itself. Like, I need the rice and extra trappings. But, here? They had the freshest fish and it was expertly cut and presented. I savored every bite! This time, it was dinner and the restaurant was busy. Yet, service didn't falter. This restaurant will be budgeted in every chance I get. Not that they're expensive. At least, not more than any other Japanese place. Going to try the curry next time! Loving their fusion-- get any kind of Asian food in one place!

I'm always up for trying out a new restaurant. After reading the reviews on Yelp, I decided to give this place a try. I'm very glad I did. The restaurant was nicely decorated and very clean. My husband and I sat at a regular table instead of the hibachi grill. Our waiter was nice and attentive. He was very helpful with questions we asked as well. We ordered a sushi roll for an appetizer, but I can't remember the name of it. It tasted delicious. My husband only eats the deep fried rolls, and I only wanted to order one roll so deep fried it was! I know it had crab, cream cheese, and shrimp in it, and it was topped with avocado and tobiko. It honestly was the most colorful sushi roll I've ever seen. For our entrees my husband ordered the chicken and shrimp birds nest. It's made with the crunchy noodles and also has broccoli, zucchini, carrots, onions, and mushrooms in it. The sauce that came on it was good too. I ordered a Vietnamese dish that consisted of soba noodles, chicken, shrimp, beef, onions, and carrots. I'm sorry I can't remember the name of my dish, but it was absolutely delicious! My husband even ate quite a bit of mine because it was so good. The portions are fairly large also. I can't wait to go back and try a bowl of pho and the fresh spring rolls. It was really nice having so many choices to choose from on the menu. There's so much I want to try.

Guess I caught them in a bad night. Service was great but the sushi was average at best . I will try again based on other reviews.

I can't recommend this place enough. The food is really good, the staff friendly, and the hibachi cooks are friendly and engaging. Over several visits we've tried the hibachi, sushi, and the pho and have never left less than satisfied. During our last visit, they brought a California Roll over to us for waiting too long, although we had waited less than we would have at any of the other restaurants in Fleming. During the same visit, the cook let my son come around and flip some of the food and have a good time. This is one of my favorite places and always a pleasant experience.

We were very excited to find a good sushi restaurant in our neighborhood. The sushi was fresh and it was a great, family friendly atmosphere. We had the Sushi Love Boat with yummy sashimi and great chef's choices. We will definitely return! The only complaint we had was that they are closed for lunch.

Great sushi. The cucumber salad was light & delicious. The Crab Rangoon is made fresh and fried to perfection. Restaurant has friendly and helpful staff. We will be back for sure.

I finally tried the pho with chicken and shrimp and loved it! Can't wait to try it with beef.

We've been looking for a good place for sushi and sashimi since moving to Jacksonville from Chicago. Saigon Tokyo did not disappoint. We were even able to practice our Japanese with Papa-san behind the sushi counter. The sashimi slices were large and the freshest we've had in town, especially the salmon.

We came here for lunch (right before 12) and the place was already packed. The food was amazing we had the spicy tuna roll, the Philly roll, fried dynamite roll, and the Cali roll. The spicy tuna roll was the best I've ever had. There server was attentive and friendly and offered to show us how to get the best flavor out of the pho soup. Amazing experience; wonderful food!

Fleming Island has a new Asian eatery. Vietnamese and Japanese flavors prevail. Food is great and prices are incredibly reasonable. Restaurant is clean and service is prompt and friendly. Let's support this locally owned business. Grand opening is scheduled for April 9th.

This place is great! My family has been in several times and each time the food was excellent! We've tried the hibachi, sushi, and pho...all were very good and the staff are extremely friendly and attentive. You just don't find many honest to goodness good people like that anymore. We will definitely be regular customers:)

Our family's very favorite restaurant!! The staff is very friendly and the food is always excellent. We highly recommend both the dining room and the hibachi grill as well. You will not be disappointed!! :)

Food and service are amazing! We've tried the hibachi & Pho - all fantastic. Highly recommend this place to anyone that enjoys Asian food. I don't eat sushi, but my husband says it's the best he's had in a long time. Excellent all around.

Fantastic new local restaurant, featuring Vietnamese, Japanese, and a little bit of fusion cuisine. Everything is fresh and delicious! My favorites include the v1 Pork BBQ vermicelli bowl, sushi, or PHO soup. Cooking table is a special and affordable treat!

Best Hibachi and Asian food around. Portions are huge and you will not leave hungry. The sushi is super fresh. I have tried everything from the bento boxes to the hibachi table and never been disappointed. The crab ragoons are best I have ever had. This place is worth at visit. You won't be disappointed.

Finally we have an excellent restaurant in Fleming Island!! The food is absolutely superb! I have pestered my husband to take me there twice this week. On both occasions, the bistro's quality with food and service, have remained the same. The staff is very kind and helpful and every employee has a wonderful personality. The food is fresh and flavored just perfectly. If you love great food, even if you have never tried this type of fare before, just go...You will NOT be disappointed. This will be my go to restaurant this side of the river. Saigon Tokyo Bistro, I love you guys!!!

The food was excellent. The sushi fresh and very good. The Hibachi chef was hilarious and cooked every item to perfection. Very reasonable for the quality of food.

I hate to rate this restaurant three stars after everybody's giving it five stars. It was based on such great reviews that we decided to eat here. I got the shrimp tempura roll which was on special, and it was average (a bit on the dryer side/not too fresh). I looked across the table at another person's roll (different) -- it looked average as well, (& not too fresh). I got a vermicelli bowl and it was average. I could go to a Vietnamese restaurant and find a better vermicelli bowl. My husband got the General Tsao chicken plate and the chicken chunks were small and not too tender and the sauce was not quite right.. (seemed it was missing something; he's had better General Tsao chicken a lot of places). Our kids shared the teriyaki chicken plate -- it too was average. The thing that actually WAS really good was the clear mushroom soup! Great flavor and we liked the little tempura crispies in it. We decided to get a Boba drink to go, which turned out to be a real bad decision -- first of all the menu did not specify whether any of the flavors were a milk tea or slushy, so we just assumed it was tea; but no, we were brought a slushy. We had ordered the "Saigon mocha" flavor (which made me think 'Vietnamese coffee' which is reeeeeally good) but not only was it not like that, but it was not even like a regular frozen mocha drink... Honestly it tasted waaaaay too sweet, no coffee flavor, and seriously, just like a Nestle Quik chemical aftertaste.... Blech! So was definitely disappointed in that!! We had driven from Switzerland just to go to this restaurant just because it had awesome reviews, but will not be back again as there are other better Asian restaurants closer to us on our side of the river... (Mr. Chans, Peony, better Viet food, etc.). Oh well. (Perhaps this place is going downhill??)

Big improvement over the previous restaurant. Big menu, lots of options for everyone. Loved the salmon hibachi (2 big pieces of salmon along with the regular veggies, rice, soup, and salad). Great staff, really fun addition to Fleming Island.

Absolutely the best!! Took my wife for lunch and we ordered Sushi and Spring rolls. The Spring Rolls were out of this world good, they are so different!!! Our service was amazing and all the food was so fresh and good. So good in fact , we ordered dinner to go!!!

My mom and I have been looking for a really good sushi place since the elderly Japanese sushi chef left when this place used to be Koko's Japanese restaurant. Well, we were in the area and decided to eat here for lunch. As soon as we walked in, much to our surprise and delight, there he was! When it comes to sushi, he is one of the best! As long as he's here I won't be going anywhere else for sushi from now on. Also, what I gathered from the conversation he and my mom had, he's pretty much there everyday except for Thursday. Besides the sushi, we had seaweed salad and fresh spring rolls. The spring rolls were very good and had decent size shrimp. On top of that, the peanut sauce they served on the side was not too sweet, so it didn't overpower the fresh filling in the spring rolls. Besides the food, the interior of the building was very roomy with plenty of natural light coming in. We'll definitely be back and the next time, I'm going to make sure to try the crispy bird's nest noodles. If you decide to try this place, I hope you like it as much as I did!

What a great restaurant we stumbled upon! It was my husbands birthday & he decided to take on changing some parts out on his truck before dinner. Which took longer than expected, of course. -_- Our friends arrived earlier than us, explained the situation & the manager was more than happy to accommodate even though it was almost closing time. We had the whole place to ourselves! It was great! We quickly placed our orders & the food was out in a jiffy! Everyone was so pleased with their meals! The soup was piping hot & the sushi was so good! My husband devoured it in no time! Our waitress was so sweet & kept our drinks filled. The decor was very pretty & relaxing with mood lighting. Our children loved the colorful fish swimming in the tank. There was ample seating & looked very clean. We will definitely be back soon for more delicious food! (We won't show up so late next time though) ;). Thank you Saigon!! 5 stars!

Vietnamese + Japanese fusion! This place is a little gem of a place amidst a strip mall of seemingly downtrodden locations. I was told by a Vietnamese person that if you go to a Vietnamese restaurant and there are Vietnamese people dining, it's probably a good restaurant. Let's just say she would think this is a good restaurant. Moving on, food was great mostly. I had ordered the lemongrass shrimp and was brought chicken - but they remade it no problem. We had the dinner for two which gives you a lot of good! Our appetizer was crab Rangoon - I don't like it, but my wife really did. She had General Chicken and I had the lemon grass shrimp. Both dishes great! We also had a sushi roll that was really good. Great service and atmosphere! And the table next to us got a sushi boat that was HUGE and they ate it all.

Pho is legit!! Best pho around. The owner Tracy is that absolute best she always takes care of her customers. Pho is on another level.

Watching the decline of the Japanese grills in our area, we have 3 within 2 miles, we decided to venture a little further out to find a good grill. Food was very fresh, staff very polite, restaurant was very clean. Their miso was the best I have ever had. It had a very savory and almost a hint of sweetness to it. Nothing really stood out as "outstanding", but certainly better than anything in Mandarin. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed.

Went there for a wonderful first date with a pretty girl and was very surprised! The venue itself isn't the fanciest, prettiest place, but it's very open and nice for a casual lunch, which is what we sort of did. Not Saigon's fault! Three minutes away from the Carmike, what more could you ask for? I got a Jimmy Smith roll and the teriyaki shrimp, and she got the teriyaki chicken with two pieces of salmon sashimi, both came with clear soup, salad, and rice! Lots of food for $45 (including tax and tip!). The sauce was so delicious and hearty, the sushi was crunchy and the fish was fresh. It has that taste that's only in good sushi, not gummy flavorless fish! The clean and friendly staff kept our meal rolling, Jose brought me some water while I was waiting and popped in when my date sat down, so thanks to him for that!! Specialty rolls are a little pricy, which is why I went for a meal and a sushi roll, but they're delicious! Head over to Saigon!!

After a long drive and a long day all I wanted was PHO! Looking at Yelp this restaurant had the best reviews and for a good reason. Their food is wonderful!!! My fiancé ordered the General chicken which is their General Tso Chicken. The chicken was still crispy and the sauce not too spicy. I ordered the seafood Pho, and felt completely comfortable eating their seafood. The noodles did not get too soggy so I was able to take leftovers and enjoy the soup the next day. I love that they have the option if Pho, sushi, hibachi and more! Also a woman which I assume is a manager walk around and I noticed her explaining and suggesting certain choices to customers. Note- currently they open at 4pm, not earlier

Great addition to the Fleming Island restaurant scene...everything I have tried has been good, The sushi is great, bento boxes are a great variety, my favorite so far was the Vietnamese pan fried noodles. The menu has such a variety, it is hard to try it all. Great prices and very nice staff. Locally owned.

Food is exellent. The staff is amazing. Always enjoy coming in. Couldn't ask for better food. Plus the cost is so better than most other restaurants of the same style.

The Saigon Tokyo Bistro must be one of Fleming Island's best kept secrets. We had driven by this place many times and finally decided to take a chance. Best restaurant decision that we ever made! Our server Stefani was attentive and friendly. The service was prompt, the food delicious and the price was reasonable. Not only will we return, but we will also recommend this restaurant to our friends.

DELICIOUS! I just moved to the area and looked up this place on Yelp! I was not disappointed. The Rock n Roll sushi roll was incredible. I'm sure I will visit often. BEWARE: they are only open for dinner in the summer months.

Had the sushi. The Mango Tango is light and refreshing. Sushi chef was very entertaining as well. Westside Roll is also very good.

Great Hibachi and Sushi place. Went here after work with co-workers and everyone left satisfied (even the vegetarian!). I really enjoyed the soup and fried rice. Prices are reasonable for a hibachi place and the sashimi was a very good deal. Definitely recommend!

I never thought I would see the day where there was a Vietnamese restaurant in Fleming Island. Of course, I had to go try it out. To my surprise, it was managed by the same people who had a similar Vietnamese restaurant in Jacksonville, FL that I used to work for as a waitress! The food here is delicious! Not only are there the traditional Vietnamese choices, there are also selections of Chinese and Japanese food! That's great for me because I can never decide if I would rather eat sushi or Vietnamese, and now I can have both in the same place! That was a first for me. The ingredients are fresh, the prices are fair. There are daily specials everyday too! My favorite meal here is probably the curry chicken bento. It's spicy, but too good to stop eating! The best part is that it comes with various other items to snack on in the box, so I never get tired of the meal! I've taken all my friends here since!

After reading all of the excellent reviews of Saigon Tokyo Bistro we decided to eat there. The food is absolutely spectacular. My husband had curry shrimp which I could not taste because it's so spicy, and he had spring rolls for appetizer. There are quite fresh and very very good. I had a chicken dish, the name I cannot remember as my husband does not like me to Yelp. So I have to delay things for a week until I find time to do it lol. There was so much food we had lots to eat the next day. Believe it or not, it was just as good!

This is probably one of my favorites, in the area. From the pho, to the vermicelli noodle dishes, to the sushi I haven't had anything bad here. The rolls are average, but fresh (in my experience). The staff is friendly and very attentive. I love the cleanliness of the restaurant, especially the bathrooms (different bathrooms are a major turn-off).

  • Renda H.

This was our first time here and the menu did have a lot of different types of Asian cuisine, including sushi, traditional Chinese dishes, Pho and Vietnamese noodles also Singapore Curry which they said was yellow...my friend had previously picked up a takeout menu which showed a lot more things including "bird's nest" a crunchy noodles dish than were actually listed on the menu that we were given which was kind of confusing but after ordering our food it was good and served quickly fresh and hot. We had teriyaki chicken, general chicken and shrimp with vegetables also sweet and sour chicken. I will say that it took a long time to get waited on initially but our waitress was very nice and friendly and went out of her way to help us in answering questions about the menu. Next time I will try the sushi :-)

One of my most favorite places to go. Food is always on point, service is impeccable. If you have not been here, this is the place to go in fleming island for your Japanese steakhouse needs or just for a great night out!

As good as it gets! Yes I love this restaurant ! Been here 3 times. The menu has everything in Vietnamese Japanese Cuisine. Last night I had the Pork Vermichilli, excellent dish. My appetizer special was the shrimp, yam and onion tempura.... yum yum. I love the sweet and tangy taste of the Lime Vietnamese Tea... So good and very refreshing. Everyone is so nice and pleasant, helpful and good suggestion if you are not sure what you want to order. My favorite is the Pho Soup and my husband loves the chicken fried rice. Also if you want a little of everything try the Bento Box, lots of choices. I like the ginger dressing on my salad. So make sure you ask for Tracey, she will make sure your evening or lunch will be the best every. Let me just say one more thing about the decor... very clean and authentic. Bamboo and all!

We still love the food here. Tonight's fare was the delicious curried chicken dinner, plus the grilled pork with vegetables and rice noodle bowl. We added steamed dumplings. Our dinners were delicious as usual, and the staff were pleasant as always. We'll be returning soon!

  • Donald M.

We've had sushi here a couple of times, most recently last night. Although it was bust the service was prompt. Giving it only 2 stars this time because I thought the sushi was border-line fresh. This surprised me a little because the place is always busy and I would expect a frequent turnover of product. I guess when you're not real close to the source (the ocean) you can't expect the freshest.

Favorite hibachi restaurant in town! The food is great. My favorite ginger dressing. Staff is always very friendly. We love this place

Came here with friends who are local yokels and ordered a Hibachi dinner. We found the service excellent and very quick, our Chef Ricky was amazing and his flavored were spot on. The serving was very generous and the price of $ 20 approx was very reasonable and they even reminded us that the gratuity was added to the final bill! We shall definitely be back when in the area.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
